Bankers showed up at my door on a cold call. Set an appointment for the next day. I then tried to call them with more questions. The sales person never called back & no one at the office ever called back. I placed a call to the office to cancel the appointment due to the previous calls not being answered. The sales person did not show up so I know they were receiving there messages. I haven't used Bankers Life but they sound like a bunch of dishonest crooks. This company seems to be scamming people left and right. I got a recruitment letter from Bankers Life and decided to do research about the company! I am disgusted! Someone please report them to the FTC! Their policies sound like a total con job. And their company-- according to a former employee-- is a scam and sounds like a pyramid scheme!

Oh wow - it seems I am not the only person fed up with Bankers! My Mom had a heart attack last year May and it is now February 2019 and we are still fighting for them to pay her claims. Her doctor has faxed all her test results three times and Bankers keeps sending her letters requesting the tests. They never ever return her calls - her agent has never either after multiple voice messages. They are quick to take her money which is now in the thousands and yet they are stalling to pay out! This company is very unethical. Don't believe me read the other reviews. I was looking at doing business with the Richmond VA local office and was initially very interested and went ahead and filled out the application for a Medicare Supplemental policy and included my bank information to pay for the premiums. On Tues Nov 21, I had all 3 of my families life policies taken off of Direct Debit. On Tues Nov 27, I checked my bank statement and Bankers Life had taken out $100. The customer service rep specifically said they were no longer on Direct debit and I would be receiving mailed statements from here on out, but have not been able to get it resolved. I will call again tomorrow to try and fix the issue. If there is no resolution, then I will be filing a complaint, especially because they record their phone calls and it took place ... read more

Bankers Life agents are very available and attentive until they have all your money. For the third time in the three years since i moved my investments to Bankers Life, I cannot get in touch with my agent or anyone else at Bankers Life. Customer Service lines just give the mechanical runaround and then disconnect you. The office number for my agent is always a recording even during business hours. Very Unprofessional. I have left 3 messages asking for my Bankers Life Insurance agent, Chris ** *****, to please call me to discuss an issue I have with two of my three policies I have with Bankers. I left these messages in the general mail box since no one ever answers the phone. On the third message I even asked if ANYONE would call me since Chris won't. No one has ever called me. I was just leaving a detailed review and the BBB screen switched to a "Request a Quote from Bankers Life"!!! Two days ago, Alicia *****, a Bankers Life insurance agent, showed up at my door, unannounced, without an appointment; my husband and I had never heard of her or her company. I would give them a zero if I could! The reps I presume are contracted out i presume overseas. DO not read claims carefully, do not listen clearly. I have had so many messed up payments that never get corrected. If you need anything corrected you always need to go to a supervisor who is rarely available. Even if you get a supervisor who assures you things are corrected they never get corrected. Do not deal with this company--esp if you want to be put on hold 40+ minutes at a time.
