Shampoo is great. Carlos is an extremely talented stylist - I absolutely love the way he cuts, colors and styles my hair (and I am super picky). Every stylist seems to be excellent though - I'd highly recommend!

I started going to Shampoo Avenue B about one year ago, after finding out my favorite stylist had moved down there. Jen has been doing my hair for several years now and whether it's a drastic cut, reds, highlights or correcting my errors, she has always been fantastic!!! Their location is not ideal for me, but I make it work b/c I love Jen and their prices are pretty reasonable for NYC. I love this place because--regardless of whatever drink they serve you, or however brusque they are when they wash your hair--I always leave with a great haircut. I've now had three different stylists and have liked every cut I've left with, which is seriously saying something in New York. When I went to Shampoo Avenue B for the first time last week, I was on the fence about getting bangs. I really wanted them, but wasn't sure how they'd look with my face shape. First good sign was that my stylist had perfect hair, so I felt like I could trust her judgement. I had a great experience getting a haircut with Aut a couple years ago. She gave me exactly the cut I asked for and it was one of the few times in my life that I didn't hate my hair the following day. Everyone was also very friendly and the wait wasn't too long despite the salon being pretty busy. I've since tried out other salons in the city but nothing has compared, I'm heading back to Shampoo Avenue B!

I had an awesome experience at Shampoo Avenue B. I got a very dramatic haircut and was very nervous about it, but my stylist was wonderful and assuaged all my fears as well as giving me an awesome LOB! Loved it. Highly recommend.

Love my haircut! I've had stylists in the past chop off my hair and didn't listen to what I wanted but Amelia is awesome and she's great with long hair. She listened to what I wanted and provided great advice when I asked for it. The staff is also great and friendly.

I've been going to Shampoo Avenue B for years. Referred by a friend who lives in the are, I voluntarily would come here over any other Salon in my neighborhood (UES). They are very nice, timely with appointments(never waited more than 5 min), reasonably priced, and the cuts are consistent. I go for a cut/blow dry with long layers basically every time. Since the summer has been over,...my actual blonde hair turned dark and dingy at the roots over the past 3 months. I could not help myself but to reach for a little 'improvisation' to get that 'sunny days' look back. Enter stage right, Carlos - armed with foil and two different shades of color for high lights and low lights. The colors blended seamlessly and now I have that surfer look back. Very happy.
