Their rep told me to get the cassette plug for passport 10.5 and promised it will fit, but it doesn't. And now I have to pay for return shipping. complete BS
I purchased a Seastream Angler 120PD from Austin Kayak. After only the 5th trip on the water both rudder cables broke. I contacted Austin Kayaks only to be told it wasn't and issue for them. I have also contacted Seastream 2 weeks ago and still haven't recieved my replacement cables. Be aware that at this point Austin Kayak does not support the products they self and leave you holding rhe faulty equipmemt they seell you as well as the manufacturer Seastream. You should be fully aware and consider yourself warned purchasing f... read more
Business response:
Hey Charles, I am sorry to hear about the rudder cables and want to apologize for miscommunication & inconvenience. I would like to see how we can best get this resolved for you, would you like to shoot us a PM so we can moving on this?
Great customer service - confirmed kayak was in stock by phoning the warehouse and having someone “put hands on” kayak to insure it was there. Received kayak this morning in perfect condition.
We ordered two kayaks during their sale. The first arrived promptly, but the second too a bit longer. They were in contact with us and very sympathetic for the delay. It's not their fault! These are Covid times. There are delays everywhere when ordering. We waited patiently and.... a month later we had our new kayak! I highly recommend them, but you must realize that they can only work with what the suppliers give them! Be patient. It's worth the wait!

Ordered two paddles that were in stock on June 28th. Status updated to back order and to ship July 4th. No big deal. Two weeks later still nothing so I call and was told it was due to Covid and warehousing and that they would be shipped. Still no big deal. Here we are two weeks later again and order status says held. I called and was told one was out of stock and that they could ship half the order if I’d like. I decided to cancel.
Can someone please give me an update for an order I placed on MAY 28TH? I completely understand that shipping times are unpredictable due to COVID, but it’s unacceptable that I haven’t received any type of update on an order I placed almost two months ago.
I order a kayak (wilderness systems tarpon 130x) and a pack of scuppers. The scuppers were fine and shipped quickly, no complaints with that. The kayak, however, did not ship at all and I had to cancel my order. It was in-stock when I ordered on 2 June, I received half-true status updates, and these were only when I asked directly. The responses I got were “we’re very busy, it will take longer to ship” and “it should be on the truck this week or next” (I can cite emails if need be). Neither of these were true. Come to find o... read more
I understand supply chains are a mess and demand has sky rocketed due to COVID; however, that is no excuse for allowing backorders when in reality they have no idea when they will recieve inventory. I ordered a Moken 12.5 V2 on May 7. at that time, the estimated ship date was June 8. That was not unreasonable given the circumstances. It is now July 12, and the estimated ship date is August 20. If you do not know when you will have it in stock do not allow back orders. Plenty of other online retailers have not allowed backord... read more
