BEWARE OF PURSE SNATCHER CLANS – Beware of female woman taking your purse and giving it to your boyfriend so you can dance together. Then if she tries to take it from your boyfriend so the two of you can dance together....that is a con for sure. Luckily, we picked up on this. So BEWARE American women!

Worst clubbing experience – I came here a couple months ago for a friend's birthday party. My friends and I were waiting in front of the line for a good 30-45 minutes, and the security guard told us its really packed in there and they are just waiting for an okay to let more people in. But obviously the security guards were picking other people from the back the line to go in. I asked why were other people allowed to go in before us, and he said they were on the VIP list. But so were we. I started to feel discriminated again... read more

WORST NIGHT OF MY LIFE – So I once came to this place 2 years ago had a blast with my girls so I though its my birthday and I want to go to AURA... HAHA BIG MISTAKE. First the so called VIP packages are a big Fing joke not even worth half of what they charge. I have a group of people go before me to make sure everything was ready and then I show up with my husband and two of by best friends get told my husband can't come in his pants are to baggy - a bouncer then points to the dress code and says you have to follow that. WTF... read more

Don't go – My wife and I went to celebrate our 9 th wedding anniversary. We searched the internet to find dining and dancing. We call Aura to make sure they had dancing, they said yes. Got a sitter for the kids and went. We were met by a below average server. The food was expensive for what we got. When we finished our dinner, we said that we are staying for the dancing; she (the below average server) said there was no dancing. Totally ruined our night. There are much better places to go. So if you are going to celebrate you... read more

The best part of the night was leaving. – I swear, the djs here must have inner-ear disfunction, because they absolutely LOVES them some horrible music. They just looooove a-love a-love to play some terrible tunes. It's like dancing in a children's cereal commercial: bubbly, sonic, quasi top-40 garbage that, unless you're a faithful Bad Top 40 fan, makes you feel like you're an extra in a Miami Vice re-run. And even if you DID want to dance, good luck not getting shin splints. My girlfriend felt like she was dancing on a bro... read more

Aura of pretentiousness – You will be waiting in line for a while. The bouncers will move their friends from the back of the line to the front of the line, regardless of how long you and everyone else has been waiting. Pretty blondes who show enough skin will be given tickets that allow them to bypass the line entirely and go straight into the club. How's that for fair? The DJ was the worst ever. Dancing to the music was impossible. Imagine taking a decent playlist and setting your player to track forward 30 seconds into eve... read more

The worst experience I have ever had in a Portland Bar – I visited Aura on Saturday Night 3/21 with about 10 friends some from town, and others were visiting for the Final Four tournament. We were just stopping in for drinks at around 11PM. I was surprised to find the bar not very busy, and we were able to belly up with about half of our group, the other half stood behind the barstools. The bartender was incredibly rude, and non-attentive. When asked what was on tap, he threw a menu at the gentleman who asked (he was standin... read more

To pdxgrl20 – I was going to write a review about Aura, but instead... Honestly? I have been to a lot of bars and clubs downtown and I have had my fare share of problems, usually my own fault cause I've been drinking lol. On the other hand, some places have horrible management and customer service. I wasn't there pdxgrl, but are you seriously trying to place blame for you loosing your own stuff? You are an adult, at a bar, and drinking! Are you sure you weren't given your number, or what ever you get at the coat check? Or di... read more
