I have the ASUS G50VT (purchased from Best Buy) that I purchased back in April of 2009. This laptop has traveled with me everywhere for the past ~8 years; from the US, Kuwait and Afghanistan. Never buy an Asus. The performance is adequate but the parts, build and customer service are abysmal. I had 2 major part failures within 2 years of buying both of which started right after the warranty expired and eventually killing it so I had to buy the parts and do the work myself. All contacts with customer services resulted in form letters saying, essentially, too bad, we don't care, you can send it in for repair so we can take a month and charge you hundreds of dollars. My tablet was wrapped in a protective cover, and it slipped off of the top of my PC tower where it was charging. A pin in the USB port was a bit bent. The tablet was still under warrantee, so I sent it back to be repaired. They demanded 150% of the purchase price to fix everything EXCEPT for the slightly damaged port, including a new motherboard and power supply, neither of which were damaged. Asus is the worst computer company ever. They have had my wife's computer which is her business for over a month with no progress to fix it when we were told it would be 5 to 7 days to fix. We also had to pay to ship it to them. This is ridiculous if you are looking to buying an ASUS anything DONT DO IT! Dear Asus, Your customer service is completely useless. After having our all in one pc for only a month, it completely stopped working. Thankfully it was still under warranty and I spoke with someone who set up a RMA # for me and I personally packaged and shipped the item, at a total of more than 100 dollars out of my pocket because your employee did not inform me that you could provide a free shipping label. Buyers be aware, my negative experience is relating more with Asus billing practices. I ordered the Asus ROG G752VY-DH72 2/24/2017. The following day, I received an email telling me that my order is pending and that I will need to call them (Asus) and then call my bank through a 3 way conference to verify my name, address, and card information before they will release my computer for shipment. I ordered a laptop from them as I heard many good things and all was good. About 2 months later (there is a 1 year warranty) I noticed that there was some significant light bleeding around the top right and left corner of my screen, obviously a manufacturers defect so I sent it into get repaired. I purchased the new asus zenfone 3 deluxe 5.7 and after 2 months of typical use, using the prescribed shower, dropping it lightly on carpet no more than once or twice, and lying it on a flat surface while charging, the phone developed a purple spot on the screen overnight while it was laying flat charging. The phone then proceeded to get worse every time it was put on the charger.
