Dr. Avery is competent and caring and I would recommend him highly.
Dr. Avery is thorough, explains conditions that are easy for us laypersons to understand, including using models and drawings to assist in teaching patients about their condition. He explains possible causes of the problem, treatment options, and next steps if the first options don’t work. He is easy to talk to, has a great bedside manner, and treats every patient with worth and respect. He also treated my 9 y/o son’s broken foot in 2015 and remembered him. All-around great orthopedic physician
I broke my upper arm and was taken to the VHC emergency room. Dr. Anthony Avery was the orthopedist on call that day. At the emergency room his bedside manner was calming and reassuring, and he immediately took steps to schedule the necessary surgery. Throughout the months of recovery thereafter, I visited Dr. Avery several times. He continued to be reassuring and always took time to explain what was going on inside my arm. In sum, my experience with Dr. Avery was very positive.
