Shout out to the doctors, nurses and staff on floor 20! You were so wonderful to me and my kid all week and we are so lucky Sam had her surgery at Lurie Children’s! Cannot recommend these wonderful people or this fantastic hospital highly enough! Wish I could give more than 5 stars because that’s the excellent care we received!!!

Six months into my pregnancy with my son, a doctor I was seeing at Delnor found Transposition of the Great Arteries in his heart. We were set up so my boyfriend and I could stay at the Ronald McDonald House near Lurie Children’s, I would give birth at Prentice Women’s Hospital, then my son would be taken to Children’s to have his open heart surgery a few days later. I am so beyond thankful for Dr. Backer, the cardiac staff, and the neurology staff so much for giving my son the ultimate care. Without them all, I would not hav... read more
