Sold out. Not acceptable. Enslaved to blood money. The blood of our children and their children and their children etc. Call yourselves scientific?

By making the decision to accept funding from fossil fuel companies, including Exxon, the AGU board has ignored the pleas of 300 prominent climate scientists, hundreds of AGU members, and 56,000 petition signers. The AGU decision also renders the organization's own sponsorship policy meaningless, since the policy explicitly bars AGU from receiving funds from companies that disseminate misinformation about science as Exxon has been publicly exposed to having been doing for decades.

When you accept sponsorship from Exxon, you are showing more interest in their profits than any benefit to humanity.

Treacherous custodians of our children's natural capital, in league with fossil fuel racketeers.

I think it appalling that you have decided to continue to accept money from a corporation whose attitude is "money above all else". It certainly makes you and your "decisions" look questionable.

Well, well, scientists who believe in money over science. It will really lower your credibility rating, but I guess you've already decided what's more important. Hope the money helps your grandkids breathe.

So very disappointed that you are in bed with Exxon....what happened to the science of fossil fuels contributing to climate change? Please listen to the public comments and reconsider your decision!!

Shame. Hard to escape the conclusion that you can be bought.

Please follow your own sponsorship policy. Do not accept $$ from Exxon, a known climate change denier.
