My husband just had knee surgery. At 6 days post op we noticed severe swelling in his foot. Surgeons office said go to AMH (it was midnight at this time) right now they will do an ultrasound. We get there and they proceed to tell us that we will have to call and make an appointment for an ultrasound to rule out a blood clot. They took blood for a D Dimmer test and said levels were high but you're fine. Go home call and make and not appointment tomorrow. This place is a joke! Went to St Anthonys hospital the moment I left alton memorial and was taken care of there because Alton Memorial is incompetent.
I have been using Alton Memorial for 25 years. The care team there is phenomenal. The Day Surgery team takes excellent care of patients having outpatient surgeries done. I highly recommend.
No one like the hospital but in the event you should have to just know that I've never had a bad experience here. The staff across the board are like yes you heard it from me, this is the place to come for great care, healthy interactions, and the personability of a compassionate friend. I couldn't have asked for a better place to recover from. Thank you for it all!
