Taking dues while closed is ridiculous and disgusting why would you even consider charging people
24 hour fitness business practices are fraudulent and shady....charging members to use the gyms while they are closed is simply despicable when many people are out of work during this crisis. Other gyms including LA Fitness are doing the right thing by freezing all monthly charges but this company takes the low road. Disgusting !
They wont let their members freeze their membership and still billing us for their closed gyms. I don't need their app, I need their equipment and the space. I need to save money right now so i'd like to freeze my account but can't reach anyone for assistance.
Unbelievable continuing to charge me and not providing any services nor any contact information this is criminal.
Since the declaration of a National Pandemic in the United States, many companies closed due to the prevention of the spread of COVID-19. Many of these companies are compassionate of the personal financial issues within each American home. Unfortunately 24 Hour Fitness disregarded this. I have been a member of 24 Hour Fitness since 2010. I never had any issues in the past. Absolutely DISGUSTED by the way this place is taking advantage of their customers and not responding to ANY inquiries regarding billing. Shouldn’t there be someone working from home taking care of this? This company only cares about money and karma is going to hit them hard. I submitted a cancellation request through their online portal, which is the only way to get a hold of anyone, and they still charged my card. This is absolutely abhorrent. Slimy, despicable company.
Probably the worst reaction to the pandemic in regards to taking care of the customer. Closed all gyms and you can only alter your membership through calling...except they closed their call centers also. Oh, and they still had the audacity to charge, when they finally reached out a week after I made an email complaint, they offered to freeze my account for a monthly fee...for a service they weren't providing.
Will not allow customers to cancel auto-pay memberships during pandemic. 24 is still charging bank accounts and not allowing cancellations or freezes. I paid the first and last months fees and don't want to extend my cancellation 60 or 90 days. Another issue is the cleanliness of their clubs. The pool areas sometime smell like feces and there is scum on the bottom of the Everett, WA pool. The cardio machines are old and broken and now we don't have towel service.
