I was so frustrated that 24 Hour Fitness has not made customer service available to cancel a membership that I filed an official BBB complaint. I was advised on how to "expedite cancelling membership" which may be helpful to those who are also unable to get in touch with 24 Hour Fitness at this time. If you visit 24hourfitness.com and type "CANCEL" into the site's search bar then it will bring you to a page where you can request to cancel the membership or you have the option of keeping your membership at a reduced cost. 24 ... read more

I signed up for a One Month free membership in march and a week into my trail membership I was charged $42.21 on March 16th. Then charged again $45.45 on April 6th and then again on April 16th for $42.21. I have not been to this gym since my first free month and was told by the sales associates that I "would not be charged anything" unless I wanted to stay at this gym. I have called the customer service line, only to receive an extremely long auto message claiming that they will not charge their customers during COVID-19 shut downs. I have already been charged for the month of April. I received an email from 24 Hour Fitness assuring me that my account would not be charged during the COVID-19 shut downs - my account was still charged for the month of April. 24 hour fitness has the worst customer service I have ever experienced. When the shelter in place order began they continued charging members and shut down their customer service center as well as turned off comments on social media. Any questions or complaints had to be sent via email which had over 3weeks response time. They came out with a blanket communication that offered extra days to the end of contracts to make up for the days lost however they never addresses what would be done for people without contract end dates.... read more

Has been closed since mid March or is now almost the end of April and was still charged both months even after they said payments will be frozen. Call centers have been shut down and emails aren't being responded to.

How is this company still allowed to charge members for services that they cannot provide? Why is my credit card still being charged for something I can no longer use due to covid-19? How is this NOT fraudulent? In addition to this issue, 24 hour fitness has shutdown their phones, so we cannot even call and cancel our membership, and in addition to that, there is no option for cancelling your membership online. I am a current member and former 24 Hour Fitness employee. Since the gym was understandably closed on the 16th, I have been charged 3 times, total of just shy of $160. My normal billing date is consistently the 16th or 17th, so I was charged March 16th, the day they closed, March 24th for my annual fee, and then again just yesterday April 14th. 24 sent out a letter saying all fees the 16th and onward will be suspended.
