I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with Pack Rat that left me feeling disappointed and disheartened. From start to finish, the company's lack of communication, incompetence, and unprofessionalism were evident.It all began with ********** failure to pick up the container on time. After seeing these other reviews, this place needs a big change. My experience started off excellent. Made me feel like I was getting pro service for the price paid. The day the container was dropped is when things went south. They sent me a smaller container than I paid for and this is after confirming the week before! There was no chance to swap out for the correct size as this was planned to arrive two days before the closing of my house sale. They offered a whopping 1% discount back. What can I say, the incompetency here is mind boggling. Or possibly, a calculated and formalized business process incorporating intentional misinformation. Whatever you are told by ANYBODY in this company, make sure you get it signed in writing, because the left hand and the right hand must be speaking disparate foreign languages to each other. When they quote they do not tell you there will be a fuel surcharge. Its in the fine print though. And when they send you the bill for $4,500 there is no detail in that bill. No indic... read more

PackRat moved and stored our goods on schedule but greatly underestimated the number of pods we would need. The partner they recommended to help pack and load our pods sent out team members were not trained in how to pack and load our personal belongings into moving pods. They damaged or destroyed over 15 items due to neglect, carelessness, and ignorance in the manner of loading the pods. I showed the team members where all the goods to be loaded were located. I will never use this service again. I called and spoke with inside sales representative. Promises, Promises. They completely missed the ***************** rep said that they would help with labor helpers and did not. They ghosted me as well and would not return my calls. Gave me incorrect cost info to use their services. Charged me every time they move the container, which wasn't told this. I should have gone with a regular moving company and let them overcharge me. ZERO STARS if I could. They lack transparency and do not deliver on their promises and throw in fees/charges that were not agreed upon. We provided ample opportunities for them to correct their wrongs, even after they admitted guilt, they did not resolve with what is owed. They are not indeed more competitive than other providers.My wife and I were going to move forward with a competitor of 1-800-PACK-RAT but we allowed their sales team to come in with a more competitive cost of service. We used Packrat to have storage containers shipped to our house and left in the driveway for several months while we went through things. Working with them was a great experience. Everything was as it was described. They delivered containers when they said they would and when I scheduled pickup they were quick and arrived when they said. To be clear, our containers were not shipped anywhere, we were simply using the containers for storage outside our house but it was very helpful. Horrible experience! Well at least the rep who does not fully communicate the order of operations. I do not know what Zippy Shell has going on with 1-800-PACK-RAT. The whole order process is a mess. I originally booked my order through 1-800-rat-pack on a Tuesday, and got an email confirmation from zippy shell. The next day on Wednesday confirmed my order and called Zippy Shell which has the same dial in number as 1-800-PACK-RAT to gather details for the delivery, the rep informed me that my confirmation nor order was on fil... read more
