Is there another company in this world with worst service/customer service? Unfortunately, I have to use Zip a lot in the city and the anxiety that arises from that is enormous. More often than note 1) they change the location of my selected car, 2) the car does not work and I have to waste time calling customer service to get it resolve, 3) car is just not there. They will suspend your account over and over and over again while continuing to charge you money. Do not get an account.
Zipcar rejected my application with no explanation, even after contacting them and speaking with a customer service representative. I have 10 years of licensed driving experience and have never even been pulled over, let alone had an infraction. I also have always paid for insurance and been insured while driving. They still charged the $25 application fee, with no reason for rejecting my application. I believe I have been scammed by this fraudulent business who stole $25 from me.

ZipCar experienced a service outage on 8/11/2022 that rendered their cars useless, as there was no way to unlock/lock their vehicles during the period of one's reservation. Absolutely disgusting vehicle, then they make it extremely difficult if not impossible to cancel your subscription. Be careful, though, because if your payment can't be auto-renewed, they will send it to collections.
Zip car has retaliated against me by closing my account. I would not allow them to charge my bank account for the service I wasn't receiving. I had premium coverage and was 100% covered with no deductible for a scratch I did to the car. I was able to use the cars for a month after and then they suspended my account. Literally the worst customer service ever. They completely screwed me over. There was no gas card, I had to pay out of pocket, There was a dent. Nothing is okay with this company. It should be investigated more thoroughly.
I looked into Zipcar in 2017 as a commuter alternative in my area and ultimately decided against it. I created a username/password and did not sign up for any plan. Yesterday, I received an email from Zipcar stating that I owed $40.08. I called and was able to speak with a person relatively quickly and that person was very helpful.
