The owners opened the Birmingham restaurant after success with a couple of other locations in Florida, and just like in the Sunshine State, you'll find simple dishes made with simple ingredients. Open for lunch and brunch only, come and order some chicken and waffles and wash it down with a sweet tea, it doesn't get any more quintessentially Southern than this.

Excellent service and food. Welcoming atmosphere!
The BBQ Burger was really good and cooked fresh. The fries were homemade , not frozen. I dined inside and everything that passed me looked incredible. I want to try everything on the menu. Fills up quickly during lunch.
Yo Mama's has quickly become one of my favorite restaurants in our city's burgeoning food scene. The ladies in the back are cookin' up some quality down-home food, especially the fried chicken wings, the pancakes, and the waffles. They make their own unique and buttery syrup that you'll wish you could take home in a bottle. It's a friendly and diverse family environment, even when it's busy, and the service is excellent.
