The owners opened the Birmingham restaurant after success with a couple of other locations in Florida, and just like in the Sunshine State, you'll find simple dishes made with simple ingredients. Open for lunch and brunch only, come and order some chicken and waffles and wash it down with a sweet tea, it doesn't get any more quintessentially Southern than this.

Great chicken and waffles!
I went here during lunch on the recommendation of a soon-to-be colleague. I’m new to bham and the first place they said when I asked about good eats was “Yo Mama’s”! The name drew me in and the QUALITY, SERVICE, & GOOD VIBES is what’s going to keep me coming back and also telling everyone about it! I ordered the fish tacos with black beans and mexican rice and omg yum😋. The fish was flaky and fried just right. The rice was tender and the beans were juicy.
