Had the ham hock terrine with a very nice Malbec. Didn't stay in one of the rooms so can't review them.
Had a lovely lunchtime fish and chip meal and beer here, staff were friendly and attentive.
We turned up on spec tonight at 7.30pm. Waited a while whilst the Barman checked if they could fit us in. Not exactly a friendly welcome. Eventually we were shown to a table in the bar. The Barman told us he would bring the menus over to us. Then we waited......and waited......and waited. After 15 minutes and no sign of the menus, we gave up and went elsewhere. Sadly typical of the bar service at so many pubs these days. Wouldn't return.
Popped in for a takeaway tea on the weekend while on holiday and the staff were really friendly, as were the locals. Great price too and nice feel about the place.
