I stayed here for an early Xmas present. It was lovely! The host Martyn greeted us at reception, explained everything very clearly, and drove up to the hut to show us how to work the hot tub, and point out walks etc. Nothing was too much trouble for him; they even had dvds and games you could borrow up to your hut. The hot tub was a great size and easy to use. Nice amenities including 2 stove hob, microwave, fridge and small built in freezer, USB plugs etc. Lovely rural location with local Tolkien trail. An HONEST review…. We booked based on initial liking to the online persona. In person it was similar but a few things let’s this place down and weren’t what it seemed to be. Pricing for the lodge we stayed in was abit steep! The beds are like hospital mattresses and we had to make our own beds they aren’t ready made, the bathroom vents and walls had a lot of dust and cobwebs. Heating took hours to kick in so was quite cold our first night, there’s plenty of storage on the inside lodge but there is nowhere to hang towels etc ... read more
Absolutely gorgeous views, great friendly and attentive host martyn , amazing facilities, good size warm cozy cabin with comfy beds and fresh crisp clean bedding, nice little park for our toddlers, big gated space for our husky to have a run, lovely area with plenty of walks/trails. Very clean and good size shower room/toilet in cabin. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay definitely great value for money! and we will definitely be back, thankyou very much from the gore family :)
Wonderful place, really peaceful and quiet. Lodge was great, hot tub was amazing! Highly, highly recommended
What a find - love this place. Booked a cabin with a hot tub and we weren't disappointed. We had a lovely view and despite arriving n the middle of a storm in January, the cabin was warm and cost. It was much more spacious than we dared hope, bed was comfy and warm, the bathroom was clean and warm and the little kitchen was well equipped. Outside we had a table & chair, hot tub and fire pit.
