Wasting tax money with too much paperwork, interviews, etc. It's not about the health of the client, it's about justifying overpaying their employees with too many forms, unnecessary requests to fill out the forms multiple times, a defunct website, and doing anything they can to drag the process out as long as possible. They are wasting tax money and yet blame the voters and the poor.

Denied the child subsidy program after I had given birth and was caring for my newborn and my step son who has delays and is unsocialized. We could not put him into daycare with only a single income and still can't. We would have to make $4,100 a month to qualify for the program.

While interacting with DSHS and its many branches, I have always found them to be interested and helpful, giving me information of other agencies that we could use for support.

I've been fighting this department for the last four years, getting told lies and then getting slammed for it. I'm starting to see why so many dads choose to take a bullet rather than deal with this. Once you are targeted by this department, your life is over anyways.
