Went in to get some help since i had money stolen from me and needed help to get my utility bill paid before i get shut off today and the guy tells me Well fortunately it's not that cold outside. Wow just shows that you must be on drugs or homeless to get any help from them. Honest people just get treated like crap when you go in.
Qualifying for assistance is getting harder and the benefits are getting lower. Just getting in contact with DSHS though is a hassle. Either the call back feature doesn't work, you stay on the phone for hours, or, like just recently, you get told to call back later and they hang up on you. If you dare to make a barely livable wage, you get little to no benefits. I don't blame those who are just doing their jobs, but the people who make the decisions should be ashamed.
I tried re applying for food stamps because last time they bumped me from 100 something to $15 a month just based of a dollar raise I got. Still making the same amount with more bills then last time raising my daughter on my own with no child support and a baby on the way I still only get approved for $16 dollars a month. What kind of joke is that?!?! What can I buy with that???? Even when the baby gets here I have to add his father to my info and God for bid if he makes any money we still won't get approved for anymore. The... read more
My bf is homeless and is still getting denied food stamps he's been looking for work but is having no luck and I don't get why he's being denied a way to actually eat
They hall us but they like to late people ,have been her for 4 house jus give them two paper the people how work here is tow slow
Went to dshs last week to get emergency food assistance because I switched jobs took a 6 dollar an hour pay cut last thing I wanted to do was be there I was already at the end if my rope loosing a good job and using everything every resource I had before going to dshs sat there two hours did everything gave them all my info and new information for new employer...
