My mother was referred to Dr. Wanda Hu for a cataract evaluation, but we were turned away based on claims that later proved false. In the exam room, a nurse told us my mother’s insurance did not cover cataract surgery at this clinic because they “don’t offer cataract surgery here.” I explained that we were not asking for surgery, but for an evaluation to determine whether surgery was even needed. I’m sharing our December 2025 experience with Dr. Wanda Hu so other patients can make an informed decision. My father saw Dr. Hu for an appointment that was scheduled as a glaucoma screening. He also reported a persistent foreign body sensation in his right eye that had been causing pain for some time.
