UPDATE: Federal regulations require VM to accept ChampVA but VM says right on their website that they do not accept it! This is discrimination against our veterans and their families. If Luanne is not transferred by tomorrow I will be picketing in front of Virginia Mason! To all of my local political friends (and everyone else!)... I have a situation. My sister in law, Luanne Cook, has been at Valley Medical Center for more than 2 months fighting cancer. She needs a very specific procedure done at Virginia Mason but they are... read more

My mother was sent here for cancer treatment and it was here we found out she was going to die (a year ago tomorrow). Our experience here was so caring and so amazing. The doctors, nurses, and social workers went above and beyond to help us all understand what was happening. Our Doctor gave my mother a blood transfusion before she left the hospital. It afforded us a few wonderful last hours with her and was the only reason she was still alert and able to say goodbye to my brother when he arrived. I have nothing but love and ... read more

just want to say THANK YOU!!!to all the surgical team before and after my surgery. Dr Jeffery Hunter and Dr. Claire French. You two are amazing. And all the nurses and CNA's ( I know the have different initials I just can't remember them) who took care of me after my operation. I had the best experience at Virginia Mason hospital in Seattle. Sometimes when your in the care of others it can be humiliating and not once for three days in the care of this staff did I feel humiliated. They made me feel like I was the only patient... read more

Been here for almost a week now and for the most part everyone is very nice and help full. I only have one problem is the the Hospitalist they have me Dr Powell. Right out of the gate was not comfortable with him. Asked for a different doctor on several occasions and was told no they don't do that. That's bull and they know it. Even went as far to the top as I could to no avail. They also assigned a neurologist Dr Ma. Very nice man and does not necessarily agree with Dr Powell. But over all it is what it is and life will go ... read more

We checked in at Virginia Mason on Monday, April 25 for MRI's and pre-op appointments for my father, who was having a brain tumor removed the following day. From the moment we checked in with Jackie at the front desk at the bottom of Buck Pavillion, to our check in at Radiology for his first MRI, to our meeting with Dr. Nussbaum, followed up by meeting with the anesthesiologist, blood work at the lab, and another MRI...every SINGLE person we encountered made sure that our experience met Virginia Mason's high expectations of ... read more

Thank you so much for the kind feedback, Rachel. We will be sure to share this with our team members. We wish your father -- and you and your family -- all the best!

In 2015 I filled out this online form twice, sent an email twice, told my DOCTOR, her assistant and a X-ray technician. In 2016, I told another DOCTOR, her assistant and 2 X-ray technicians and I’m writing again. When a person is left in the room, they may see the canister of antibacterial wipes and want to clean the area that the Dr will be checking and reach for one to be sure it’s clean. A parent if they have children, may be distracted as their child reaches for one. I had 13 eye surgeries and along with other people tha... read more

Having spent the last week dealing with a detached retina, I want to express my deepest thanks to the compassionate professionals at Virginia Mason Ophthalmology---both at Issaquah and Downtown Seattle. In particular much gratitude goes to Connie Chen, who juggled her schedule more than once to accommodate me. Eye emergencies are certainly not pleasant, but Dr. Chen and her staff made a difficult situation as easy as possible. As a fellow health professional, you all are an inspiration!

Business response:

Thanks Dennis, for sharing your experience. We will make sure to pass this along to the Ophthalmology team!
