I went into this shop just before xmass , I purchased my daughter and myself a lovely ring each spending over a thousand pound , I then took a ring and and bracelet in to be cleaned I purchased another ring £700 . My engagement rings claws kept catching so I took it for a repair. When I collected it, it still felt the same. I went back again and they supposedly re tipped all the claws and fixed it. Still catches but Im but taking it back as I don't trust them to repair it. At the same time I took another ring in to be made smaller. They put some gold balls inside the ring and they were so big I couldn't place it on my finger. They then made them smaller but it still didn't fit. Great service and advise, popped in to have diamond earrings reset but after their advice, I paid for a brilliant polish and they came up brand new.
went into Victoria jewellers today to sell an old gold ring I no longer wear. they weighed and gave me a valuation but told me they needed to do further testing, but no specifics unfortunately I trusted them to keep my jewellery safe and instead handed it back discoloured ( the understand and band had turned brown ) and damaged from what they described as "acid testing" saying they couldn't purchase it as it wasn't pure gold ( stamped as 9 ct ) and it was mixed with other metals ( as most gold jewellery is especially 9 ct). ... read more
