We are a fourth generation family business. Valpo Velvet was started in 1947 and we still use the formulas that Herb and Gordon Brown perfected with the help of their degrees of Dairy Engineering from The University of Wisconsin. We still make all ice cream fresh weekly from scratch on the premises.

Valpo Velvet Ice Cream is rich and creamy, just like ice cream should be. Love the wide assortment of flavors. And the sandwiches, soups and salads are a treat in themselves.

RecommendedWe love Valpo Velvet! The ice cream is superb and we especially love that they have Sorbet(non dairy) options for our child with allergies. The food is fantastic as well!!
We love Valpo Velvet! One of our favorite stops on our nightly walks with our pitbull Megatron. He likes a scoop of vanilla in a cake cup. We like more adventurous flavors. You can't go wrong! and the Oh La La sandwich is my FAVORITE.
