About this business

Latin and Mediterranean cuisines have been independently appreciated all over the world. Not surprising then, that Valanni decided to have the best of both worlds and opted for a Latino-Med menu. The result is that bite-sized tapas, paellas, red mussels and grilled octopus, hummus and pita bread—all can be found on one menu. Located in the arts district of Philadelphia, Valanni could not have asked for a clientele more open to exploring new tastes, as the one that frequents this quarter. The wine list represents world ... read more

Best Brunch in Philly – has the best brunch on sundays! - the drinks (say bloody mary or mimosa..) are as expensive as the meals, but are very delicious. Valanni offers breakfasty foods, as all brunch restaurants, but also lunch-type foods, so if you're not a big breakfast person, like me, you can order something else you prefer. We found this when we were going Morning Glory for breakfast, but were turned off by the 1.5 hr wait -- we found a place with better food...........and no wait!

After a major expansion, charming and convivial Valanni is double its original size and every bit as popular. – In Short If Philadelphians can agree on anything, it's that everyone loves Valanni. And since owners knocked down a wall and took over the adjacent property, there are twice as many reasons to love it: 120 seats instead of 60 and a bar that's 100% bigger. The crowd is full of joyful contradictions, luring both the gregarious and refined, the yuppie and artsy, the young and old, the gay and straight, the fodie and t... read more

Amazing Brunch – I had a birthday brunch for myself and 4 other 20-something friends. Everyone loved the dish they got and the prices are very reasonable for brunch. The staff was curteous and the atmosphere seems more chill than other places (perhaps this is different at other times). Menu had a good variety of items and I would go back again. Only about 10-12/person and great morning drinks!

Yummy Paella – Parking stinks in this part of town but there are a few really great restaurants that it's worth the driving around the block 10 times for a spot. The portions are definitely plentiful and there is alot to choose from on their menu. Everything I ate was great and I definitely would go back.

always a good time! – I love Valanni! Great service and the best tapas I've had in Philadelphia. GREAT sangria too, loaded with all kinds of fruit. Definitely try the chicken empanadas and the brie with hazelnuts and cherries is to die for!! With its big, open front windows and generous amount of outdoor seating, Valanni proves as the perfect place for a light summer dinner and a big pitcher of sangria.

friendly place! – I don't usually post but dine out ALOT!!! The previous entry about not being gay (I am not gay for the record) provoked me to write. I go to Valanni like once a month or more and find the staff (bar, waiters/waitresses. hostesses, Management etc.) to be ultra-accommodating and knowledgable. This place gets such a great mix of people because of their accepting, efficient, and friendly customer service. I feel bad for the previous writers" jaded view. RIDICULOUS! Keep up the good work Valanni! By the way - gr... read more

If your not gay, Stay away – food is good but pricey. but if you're not gay, or a cute man then forget about service. The waiters and the bartenders will ignore you. Worst waiter service in Philly. yada yada yada

Delicioso! – This is my first post..woo.I absolutely LOVED this place. My husband and I (were only 25 BTW) go on date nights once a week and we go to at least 3 rest. during rest. week. THis was our favorite place. We had the spicy potatoes and chicken emapanadas to start....Our entree was great...they let me substitute my side of polenta because I don't eat shellfish with the sweet potatoes and our dessert was by far the best...My husband has a sweet tooth which made the Orea bignets perfect for him and I love ice cream so ... read more

Restaurant Week Pleasure – I came here for Restaurant Week was month and it was incredible. The food was wonderful and the portions was filling. A few of my coworkers and I chose this as our restaurant week pick and we enjoyed it so much that we are still talking about it. Defiantly worth it and the Oreo Biegnets are to die for, simply marvelous!!!
