Went to the VA on Irving Street, DC for an ultrasound and routine lab work. My ultrasound appointment wasn't until 1130 but I drove in early to beat the morning Washington DC rush traffic. I was first in line at the walk-in lab and got that done with no fuss at all; all the lab folks were very friendly and helpful. I then went to the ultrasound clinic to check in and see if there had been any earlier appointment cancellations I could slip into. I sat down to wait and a little after 0900, they called me in for the ultrasound.... read more
Green Team. Fast check-in. Technician was great and provider listened and addressed all my concerns. She covered my conditions and offered options. Great visit
I am a concerned nurse that use to work for the VA years ago. I am hearing the DC Medical Center is taking money from nurses and they were not informed. Taking back locality pay and illegally changing salaries in the system. I think this is news worthy for NBC,CBS and CNN since they like to report on their wrong doings all of the time. Without nurses how do you run a hospital?
I have been trying to get an emergency refill for a medication for over 2 weeks now. I have left several messages at the VA Fort Belvoir front desk and VA nurse hotline. I do not think my messages were passed on to my provider. No one has returned my calls. I left messages for the nurse advise line ---they were NEVER returned in the order they were received(as promised). I am beyond depressed and you cannot imagine how frustrating this is. Obama has ruined the VA medical system. You all are the WORST. If I could take back ev... read more
So how is that a Cardiologist Dr. says my father-n-law needs to be admitted the VA hospital, but an ER doctor (Dr. Jessica Ross) can override that request because there's no available beds & was told he can be treated at home?? Are you kidding me?!!! Oh & did I mentioned that she broke the HIPPA law by giving me medical info about my father-n-law over the phone without hesitation? Yes, yes she did! Something needs to be done!!
My First Visit Was on 7-20-2016. I Had Impeccable Service In The Women's Health Center. Being My First Visit I Was Very Apprehensive. I Must Say The Women's Center Was State Of The Art. My Primary Care Doctor, Dr. Edmonds Was Very Thorough and Answered Many Questions. She Ordered 2 Consultations For Me. Which The First Is Next Thursday On 7-28-2016 Which Was Quicker Than My Civilian Doctors. Anyway Time Will Tell and I Will See How Next Thursday Turns Out As Far As Wait Time, Personnel Attitudes, etc..... Hopefully I Will Ha... read more
I became caretaker for my now 84-year-old dad two years ago and moved him across the country and into my house. Since then, we have experieced a huge range of what the VA provides--from home modification help, to home aides, to geriatric primary care to the hospital and ICU to physical therapy to respite care to the barber shop and I am sure I am forgeting some. I cannot sing the praises of the VA's medical care and support enough. I really don't know how I would've been able to move my dad in on my own and still work full t... read more
Worst customer service by Dental ever! I Had an appointment out in town for dental today. Spoken to Rashida Collier multiple times about authorization. She assured me it would be there. Never sent. Called dental and he asked me to hold so he could call someone else. Was hung up on. Now dental will not answer phone. Called patient advocacy. Have not heard back. I work for the VA how am I suppose to tell Veterans how great the VA is if I do not believe it. Total disappointment.
