It really is a wonderful city and gone I never like to go would be a dream and an honor
The service I got was fantastic. I was able to get everything done in one day. Even the MRI that the Doc requested which usually would never happen. The two things I did not like is that you go to a room get seen by a nurse or assistant and then you have to leave and wait for the doctor to get you to his/her room. They should change that where patient goes in one room stays in the same room till they are all done. Second the parking is horrible there, if you get an appointment letter in the mornings don't bother with the gar... read more
Went to VA for 2 Apointments today. Arrived and valet was shut down could not find a parking place after 15 minutes of driving around found one. Went to go in and was told we had to go around the back because dignitaries were using the front. Really! Making all of the vets walk around to the back of the building to get in and in the rain! We now know who is more important in this country. Vets have been taking a back seat for two long. Late to my appt. But still being seen, a lot most of the employee care, but the people in ... read more
In regards to the parking. I cannot understand why the " parking lot" was NOT designed to accommodate additional parking. The contractors, govt agency who approved, and VA should be held accountable for such a waste of money. These 2 levels of concrete, with a dead end! Really? Its a tomb. There should be an EXIT. Vehicles have little room to turn around. This parking lot creates anxiety and anger, I've seen arguements because of it. I do not like driving 2 hours to an appt and be late due to inadequate parking.
My letter said that I was to be seen for neuro, the "Doctor" insisted that he was to see me for something that I had already been seen for...so now I'll have to go through the process of waiting to be seen for neuro all over again...geez!!!!
I do understand some if my fellow vets have different needs and some more pressing then others. But i abosolutly love my va hospital and the take very good care of me and i hope i never habe to give it up
VA has made some significant improvement's . I have had some good day's with the staff. VA going in the right direction .
This was my first encounter at the VA in DC. I went there ar 2:45am. The service was fast, staff were very accommodating. I wad seen within 10 minutes of arriving. The only less than positive experience was "after several tries, NOONE could fine my vein. I had to return 2 days later due to the problem got worse. This time they were able to find a vein on attempt number 4. Hats off to Sharon at Gainesville VA! She usually get it on the first attempt. All in all, I had a pleasant experience at Washington DC VA Medical Center..
Went because I was having chest pains, stomach pains, and blurred vision. The doctor at the ER came in and said she found nothing wrong with my charts and was about to send me home. I insisted to her that my vision was blurred and something must be wrong, it wasn't until then that she tested my vision and decided to check my blood. Found out I was diabetic. I dread to think what could have happened if I had allowed her to send me home. Smh.
