My father was diagnosed with Stage 3B lung cancer on November 2, 2020. It has been 36 days since his diagnosis and still no treatment has been done. He had an appointment scheduled for today but due to an error in the referral paperwork it was cancelled. It is now scheduled for December 10th. Loma Linda VA can improve by putting more emphasis on taking care of its veterans. My father was in the Army for 28 years. He is now diagnosed with stage 3b lung cancer and told his children on November 2nd. Since then he has had people from the VA apologize for miscommunications on their part and also errors on paperwork also on their part. By not messing up paperwork for my father who has stage 3b lung cancer who has had an appointment to even begin therapy to battle this. Hes in severe pain and was told that the hospital would have to push his date to the right 2 more days. This man has had to reach out for help and after being informed and knowing he needs the help nobody is reaching out for him and caring for him as a patient. i just spent a night in the hospital and i have to say I received the very best care. from the time i checked in until the time I left. I had 2 of the best nurses in charge of my care Lee and James.

My husband had cataract surgery today & was in the short stay unit. Mildred was his nurse before surgery. A team of nurses came in when we arrived & helped admit him! Everyone was so kind & explained everything to us. Every nurse had us laughing & when you are nervous, it really helps to have your nurses ease the tension! The surgery was delayed by several hours. I was told by a cardiologist to make an appointment. I received a letter with and extension to call. Contacted that person (Lynn) and never heard back from her. I called again today 9/11/2020 and there was to me a lot of confusion so I asked that the cardiologist call. Spoke with Dr. Piper and was told to call an extension where no one answers and there is no voicemail.
