My girl friend and I drove about 4 hours for a night out and go check out Springfield. Love the hotel, the room was very nice and homey. Next time we come threw Springfield we will definitely stay again.
Our stay at the University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center was okay. I, honestly, think that the rates are higher than they should be, for what you get out of the hotel. They would have been acceptable a few years ago, but the hotel is showing its age and usage for sure. In addition, there were several instances where I was unimpressed by the customer service provided, especially by the front desk attendants. Shelby Williams is phenomenal at customer service! He has assisted my out of town family members with hotel rooms who raved about UP and Shelby!!!
Shelby Williams is the University Plaza when it comes to entertainment. Any type of party you want to have or if you need several hotel rooms call the UP and ask for Shelby Williams.
Staff let kids run and scream in the lobby. When asked to have children stop running around the lobby and screaming, front desk staff rude. I asked for extra towels and, again, front desk staff rude. Stayed here several times and enjoyed it. Not sure I'll come back after this.
