Disappointed that they have excluded the mentally ill. Child psych is in desperate need of repair and a fresh coat of paint. So incredibly sad they would leave one of the most vulnerable populations out of this hospital.
I give this low ranking after hearing that the behavioral health was not moved along with all the other specialties. The staff there has to deal with many different ranges of mental illness. there are only 3 private rooms when many of these children need privacy to help them heal. There are only 2 showers for the entire unit. Paint is peeling, broken furniture doesn't get fixed and the only video games they have are very old ones and those were donated by staff.
I attended the Open House on Nov 5. What a marvelous facility to give the best of care to children of all ages.
The new children's hospital is top notch. They have thought carefully of not only the children's need in their critical care but for the comfort of the parents that spend countless weeks supporting their little ones. Job well done, you made Iowa proud!
My granddaughter had a hole in her heart, the pediatric cardiologists was amazing along with the nursing staff, no one could ever go wrong with them,i could find no problems with the most important part of that visit, i did however find that most of restrooms on the main floor were the most disgusting ive ever seen in a public place, 2nd with your child is going through something horrible, parents shouldn't have to sleep on the floor and hard sofas, my lil grandaughter is only 5, i know she was alittle concerned with daddy s... read more
Great facility/ staff. Way to long of wait times with a 3.5 year old. Took right at an hour from the time the nurse left until the time the doctor came in.
We really had the best experience here!!! Very friendly staff!!! Everyone was always asking us if we needed anything and making sure we were happy at our time at the hospital! Thank you again!!!
I am so grateful that my great grandson is in treatment with the University of Iowa Children's Hospital the doctors and nurses are amazing. Everyone there really cares and and is so patient with us and all our concerns and worries.
Everyone I encountered there was super friendly, caring and concerned. Also everyone was very helpful.
