Seriously U of I this is ridiculous- waiting in the ER for over 6 hours after we were told to come here by your doctors. I have had more bad experiences here then any other hospital I’ve ever been to. Get more staff if that’s the issue or add more beds because I can sure tell you if I had another choice I would absolutely NOT be at this hospital. Edit- We left U of I ER after 7.5 hours and drove straight to Mercy and we were in a room within 10 minutes.
Have been sitting in the ER today with my mom for over 5 hours now along with many others who have been here longer. While the staff has bee unfailingly helpful, there is still no end in sight for when my frail 83 year old mother might get into a room. she alternates between lying on a waiting room couch wincing and wringing her hands to crying because she's in so much pain. The nurses gave her a single dose of Tylenol some hours ago and despite my request that they reevaluate her for needing more pain meds now, she just sit... read more

They have good people - probably even at their QuickCare - you just have to wait and wait. Then you get a bill for $189 - but they submit to your out-of-state insurance and then re-bill you for $270 - just for a PA to give you an antibiotic for a sinus infection. Not Quick - Care in my book and expensive to boot.
Like a second home. you never feel out of place there

We have encountered a horrible standard of care from several departments including urology, urogynecology, GI, gynecology (with 1 exception - the gyn I saw most recently is far superior to others I have seen at the U of I), and quick/urgent care. As a veterinarian, if I failed my patients so severely, my patients (unable to speak and advocate for themselves) would sadly be deceased.
