We stayed in the Lodge, just across the beer garden from the main hotel. It was a fantastic place, we had our private bedroom and bathroom and the shared dining area and lounge. Plenty of room, even a little refrigerator. Even though it was just the 2 of us, this would be a perfect setup for a family or several couples. best hotel breakfast I can remember ever! Beautiful location, lovely room, friendly staff and gorgeous food
I had a wonderful at the Ulbster Arms Hotel! The location is perfect—just 15 minutes from the Orkney ferry and right by the river, which makes it great for fishing. The food was outstanding, and the venison Balti is an absolute must-try—so delicious! I stayed in one of the lodge rooms, which had lovely country décor and a very comfortable bed. Slept so well. The staff were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. A fantastic place to stay if you’re touring around Scotland. Highly recommended!
Right on the riverbank, so peaceful. The hotel restaurant was incredible, staff were so friendly and really took the time to spoil my child which was lovely, definitely a highly recommended 4 star hotel. Lovely roaring fire in the reception. Just a few miles outside of Thurso which was really convenient for getting the ferry from Scrabster to Orkney.
