If you haven’t been to St David’s, go. If you haven’t visited the cathedral, you should. One of Wales’ smallest cities (there is also St Asaph further north - and another cathedral). It is located close to the sea. Its size is deceptive - as you will find if you go for a walk along the coast path that winds between St David’s and Ramsey island. Hope for good weather - the views are memorable. One thing is for certain - you will come back again.
The hotel and room were very impressive as was the food in the restaurant. Sadly a few small details let it down. Firstly, the service in the restaurant seemed lackluster after our mains and it took an age to get a dessert ordered in a high end restaurant with very few dining. Secondly, on the morning we were leaving, we tried to use the shower but it was broken and could not get the hot water to work (bath worked fine). Words simply are not enough to describe how outstanding we found this hotel to be. From the moment we arrived, the attentiveness and genuine care shown by the staff to us was exemplary. They went above and beyond to make our stay as special as possible while we celebrated a milestone birthday. We received the most warming of welcomes. Fantastic food. Nice large room on ground floor with sitting out area. Bar rather strangely filled with large plastic trees and property full of 'original' art.
