Love this place – It's been over a week and I am very happy with everything: hair cut, location, cost, and the atmosphere of the salon. I have never gotten so many compliments on my haircut as I have this time around. Even from complete strangers. Angie was a great stylist. She really listens and also gives feed back. great haircut and color – East 42nd Street Salon has been my salon for several years. I am a loyal customer because Nancy Root does fabulous colors and cuts. People frequently compliment me on my hair, and it's all because of Nancy.
East 42 Street Salon – Cheri has been my stylist for over one year now. I allow her to come up with a design plan and color of her choice as she is the expert. She has not failed me yet. Recently I decided to use the salons other services and had Desiree give me a brow wax and tint. Then she took it a step further and I had her give me lash extensions. They look natural , feel great and I wish I had done this sooner. Desiree was great !

East 42nd Street Saloon - great experience! – It was quite an experience for me. Imagine a woman at the age of 45 with long hair, which she had last cut short at the age of 27, that would be me! I was scared to death, literally shaking when I came to the salon to have my hair cut short because of the hair loss problems. Perfect Hair Every Time – I was so disappointed with my haircuts and was unable to find a good stylist no matter how much I paid. I was referred to Nancy by a very good friend and fell in love with her right away. It can take years to find a great stylist and when you do, you will follow them to the ends of the earth to get that perfect cut. Nancy Root – I want to second the last review about Nancy. She is truly an artist when it comes to hair, not only cutting it but coloring it as well. I have a certain way I like my hair, tousled, you might say, and Nancy helps me pull that off with precision, style, and age appropriate flair. (I am in my mid-fifties and I look styling!) Best Hair Stylist – Nancy at the East 42nd St Salon is incredible. She's an artist really! She's done my hair for more than a decade now. It's always flawless! She aims for perfection and achieves it. Always! You'll not find a more skilled professional in the Twin Cities. To say that I recommend her is an understatement. She's a professional's professional at the very top of her game. By the way, she knows a lot about wine too, and she's very smart on lots of topics.
Credit card required – Just made an appointment. We'll see. I had to give a credit card number to get the appointment because they require it for services that will cost more than $50. If you cancel with less than 24 hours notice, they charge you - what if you or your child gets sick or if something else prevents you from going?

We absolutely understand that emergencies do come up, and if something like illness/etc prevented you from making your appointment, we would not charge you. We only ask for the credit card (and this is a growing standard salon practice) due to the occasional no-show in which a stylist's time was booked out of her day. Nancy's the best – I've been trying to find someone new for along time, and a friend recommended Nancy. I've never been so pleased. I love the way my hair moves, and the highlights are absolutely gorgeous.
