Curly-haired girls beware - pretentious attitudes and mediocre cuts abound – I have curly hair. I tried East 42nd for the first time a while ago because they claim to be the place to go for curly hair. I thought the cut was OK and the service was fair (somewhat pretentious and I-know-better-than you) - and I felt extremely rushed. Best Brazillians! – Brazilians by Summer are awesome! Cleanest and most painless wax I've ever had--and that's 10 years ! I honestly hadn't had good experiences with Hard wax but Summer was so skilled, I hardly felt a thing and the job was certainly done!
Always a great cut – I have been going to Teresa's salon, the East 42nd Street Salon, since it actually was on East 42nd street. I have hard hair to cut. BEST HAIRCUT EVER!!!!! – I had tried Ouidad (a curly hair salon in New York) and was not impressed. I have searched for stylist after stylist to cut my hair, and my journey ended at East 42nd Street Salon. Avoid this salon if you want a stylish cut – I went to this salon based on the CitySearch positive reviews and the fact that they are promoting themselves as curly hair specialists. I am extremely disappointed in the level of service I received and the results of three haircuts from Teresa, the owner of the salon. Great hairstylist for hard to style hair! – I have been to this salon twice for haircuts and have left completely satisfied both times. Cheri has done a really great job with cutting and styling my somewhat difficult hair! She listens to how I want my hair styled and then surpasses my expectations.
