I have a hard time believing that I have lived in Michigan all these years and not been to see these Elk at Thunder Bay Resort. This has to be one of the best, most interesting things to see and do in the entire state. The horse drawn wagon tour and guided dialogue by the owner plus the 5 course dinner was out of this world. On our next visit I will definitely play the 18 hole golf course.
Exceptional staff, always helpful and accommodating. We've stayed here numerous times and can't say anything negative. We always visit the restaurant/bar for good food, great drinks and laughs.
This is the 3rd time we have joined Thunder Bay for a murder mystery weekend. Let me say just say it was not any easier then last time. Us sisters have a great time and lots of laughs. I would recommend this trip to anyone that wants a great get away with lots of laughs and adventure.

As a Motor Coach Driver for Pioneer Trails / Eagle Rock Tours , I have been to Thunder Bay Resort many times !! Jack .. his Family & Staff do a Fabulous Job !!! The Presentation of Horse Drawn rides to see the Elk through the Resort , that ends with a 5 Star plus Meal prepared by Spenser ( Jack's son) will make your taste buds come alive !!! Jack and his entire team do an exceptional job from start to finish!! We received a warm welcome, very comfortable accommodations, a horse drawn carriage ride through the elk preserve that was both entertaining and informative, and got to see lots of elk and snap pictures that will last a lifetime. LOVED it. We liked the room. Had a wonderful carriage ride to dinner. Dinner was awesome. Family that owns it and employees were so nice. Definitely recommend it.
