RecommendedThis resort is so much fun! The horse drawn carriage ride through the forest along with the knowledgeable guides was wonderful. This is an elk preserve but as you ride through the beautiful trails you feel as though you’ve been sent back through time. The food was delicious, and the cabin was beautiful. We stayed a night at the resort. The rooms are huge, we had a fireplace and a whirlpool tub. My only suggestions would be to change up the menu for the 5 course meal, it was good but not good enough to come back a second time... read more

What a beautiful winter experience with my husband! The staff was so friendly and loved the whole family story of how this came about. The homemade food was excellent! Loved the chicken noodle soup after a ride in the cold woods. We also enjoyed cross country skiing during the day! We would definitely go back and bring friends next time!

What a great weekend getaway! We were there for a sleigh ride/elk viewing weekend. Two breakfasts were also included. Our whirlpool suite was wonderful- spacious, quiet, clean, and warm. (it was extremely cold the weekend we were there. ) It even had a fireplace that greeted us Friday night. Saturday nights sleigh ride was very informative and lasted an hour. Had a great time. We really enjoyed it, it was so different than so many other resorts. I highly recommend the dinner with the elk viewing. The food was amazing and the information about the elk was very interesting. Highly recommend!
Delightful elk viewing ride and dinner! The setting is restful, the running narrative was informative and very charming and the staff were friendly and accommodating! Loved every minute of it!
Love Thunder Bay Resort! Pure Michigan at its finest. Third time there and it just keeps getting better. Friendly, generous staff and great, cozy accommodations. The elk viewing/gourmet dinner is phenomenal and a must any time of the year. We will be back again for sure.
