We bought our employees and family to Thunder Bay Resort for a weekend getaway. We had an awesome time. Comfy, very clean, lodging. With a Northern Michigan feel. The sleigh ride was about perfect. Very beautiful and so informative. The Elk we saw on our ride were magnificent!! We got so close also. Our group ranged in age from about 6-60 and everyone had a great time. It was awesome the elk viewing , the sleigh ride by horses, the meal at the cabin and the staff all was very nice and I would recommend this to any one who is looking for a nice little getaway
This was our first time elk viewing and what a wonderful time. The sleigh ride and elk viewing was spectacular...cannot say enough about how well we were treated by staff. Food was excellent. If u want a get away this is the place to go to.. the lodging is very homey... do not want to leave... will definitely be back. Thank you!!!!

The owner, his family and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The sleigh ride and elk viewing is a very unique experience. Old fashioned under wool blankets being pulled through the snowy woods, over wooden bridges and stopping to view these majestic animals. After an hour or so we ended up at a beautiful log cabin for dinner. They seat 4 couples to a table so we enjoyed conversation with other guest while tasting wine and eating a 5 course meal. The rooms were ok, that being said the staff was excellent. Friendly and fun. The food was incredibly good and the sleigh ride out to see the elk very enjoyable. What I liked most was this is a family run business and we got to meet the family. Jack the father who started the business and his son Spencer who cooked a wonderful dinner at the main cabin. Don and Alan our guides on the sleigh ride were a hoot. My wife and I enjoyed ourselves and will be back with friends.
My daughter got us a murder mystery weekend for xmas, had a super wonderful time--Neat clean, and wonderful staff, elk view and dinner was great---would highly highly recommend to anybody looking for a challenging fun filled weekend, loved it
