Had a room booked to celebrate a birthday in December. Had a bit of an odd feeling about the place in August as the booking calendar suddenly disappeared. My wife called them and was assured that everything was fine and we would be welcomed in December. Had an email on 3rd September from a winding-up firm that the Unicorn ceased trading and went into voluntary liquidation from 1st September and I would join a list of creditors. I guess that's my deposit: the cost of a night's stay, is forfeit.
Spent two nights in room 7 which was like a small apartment! Lovely fresh decor with quirky furniture and artworks arround the walls. Lovely clean bathroom with a powerful shower and nice towels. Tea making equip and posh biscuits provided and a small bottle of fresh milk in the fridge for a perfect cup of tea (or coffee, choclate etc). Stayed here for the night on our way down to the Royal Welsh Show and what a lovely place. Entry was via a keysafe as the restaurant wasn't open, but the lady talked us through the entry process and got us to our room. What a beautifully decorated (to a high standard) hotel. The room had everything we needed including a fan (as it was quite warm, it came in very handy) and even a small fridge!
