Vampires beware! Garlic is abundant in everything on the menu here. Situated on Beverly Hills' Restaurant Row, this kitschy spot serves mostly Italian or as they call it, Cal-Italian. Call it what you want, but it's the garlic that you'll taste and remember. While the food is decent, it's the garlic gimmick that most people come for. The menu features a variety of pastas, chicken, meat, fish and even ice cream, all flavored with the little white bulb. This is a fun place for family and friends. If classy and refined is what ... read more

Revolutionary Taste of Garlic Ice Cream!! – First thing that caught my attention was the ambience. It has a slight gothic feel. The mirror in the seating was a nice touch. Reminds me of the movie "the Lost boys". In the movie, if a person does not have a reflection, they were a vampire. My friend was not a vampire thankfully. We started with garlic potstickers and garlic spinach dip. Our main course meal consisted of halibut and steak. All were average. We expected MORE garlic, we were disappointed. Then we had the garlic ic... read more
Maybe worth a second opinion – I'll be the first to say that my assessment may be off because I've only been here once, with my mom and grandfather. We had crab, which was decent. Certainly not as "garlicky" as I thought it would be. Portion size was just right, leaving room for dessert. The house salad was very basic, nothing worth noting. The rolls were delicious. Notable service; we had prompt seating considering the fact that it was a weekend and we didn't have reservations. Garlic ice cream would be great if it weren't ... read more
One of a Kind Treat – My boyfriend surprised me with reservations here for Valentine's Day. [FYI: Reservations Needed. We saw people waiting an hr. and 1/2 to be seated without reservations.] It was both our first time trying it out and mind you we both LOVE garlic. The bagda calda is what started us off. We shared an appetizer soup. We shared a meal. Had a bottle of wine. We shared dessert. And ended with after dinner drinks. Total was $150 for the two of us. The entire ambiance blew me away, the seating was romantic, the s... read more
A good surprise... – It s true that s a little bit tacky but the food was very good, (forget to bring a date, garlic...). The deco reminds me my grand'parent's kitchen... It s different and that s why it was a nice dinner.
Yes, you will smell like Garlic when you leave – I'm from NYC and finding a decent restaurant in LA is not as easy as one would think. It's usually a whole lot of hype and mediocre food at best, but I have to say that The Stinking Rose was great. I went there for my birthday and had a wondeful time. The host JEFF( I think )was super friendly and accomodating. The food was excellent. I had the Surf and turf with Crab and a petite filet and the portion was just right. My date had the halibut and it was moist and flaky, small p... read more
We came here for a staff Christmas party, 27 people, we got a privat area were we ate Garlic with food, I love Garlic. They took care of us, and we took care of the food. We had a great time, good atmosphere and the service was awesome. I would come back fosho! We had a set menu; Garlic w/ bread and a Garlic salad, Chicken w/ garlic mashpotato, primerib or Salmon....Tiramisu for dessert, finishing it of with some coffee..... For a privat party, go on Thursday's, Friday is crazzzy and for a Garlicin' Date, they got thos littl... read more
Awful – I first ate at the San Francisco Stinking Rose back in 2001 (had a ceasar salad), and it was much better than the Beverly Hills location. I ordered the meatloaf and it was the worst I've ever tasted. No flavor and the texture was all wrong - kind of rubbery. The mashed potatoes had no flavor. My DH had the pork and he said it was very bland. The roasted whole garlic cloves appetizer was absolutely disgusting, but the rolls that came with it were decent. I love garlic, cook with it all of the time - but this place is ... read more
scrumptious food! Best garlic restaurant in LA – I absolutely loved this place. Before I went I read a few negative reviews about the food or service, but im glad that I didn't listen to them. I have to say that the food was delicious. I ordered lasagna and it was so tasty! I loved it so much. I also ordered one of those pizzette's and that was also very good. I mean I can't think of a negative thing about this place. The valet service was fast and easy, the host was very professional and polite, our waiter was nice and fast... read more
delicious!!! – I had been wanting to go to this place for awhile, and when I finally did...it was DEFINITELY worth it. I had the pork chops which were the best I have EVER had to this day and my date had the roasted chicken which was mouth watering as well. They try to push the roasted garlic appetizer on you, but dont bother...it was the only thing that we did not like, not bad...but just not something I would not choose to order again. I even loved the Italian candies they give you with your check. Try this place atleast o... read more
