About this business

Vampires beware! Garlic is abundant in everything on the menu here. Situated on Beverly Hills' Restaurant Row, this kitschy spot serves mostly Italian or as they call it, Cal-Italian. Call it what you want, but it's the garlic that you'll taste and remember. While the food is decent, it's the garlic gimmick that most people come for. The menu features a variety of pastas, chicken, meat, fish and even ice cream, all flavored with the little white bulb. This is a fun place for family and friends. If classy and refined is what ... read more

Love the garlic! – If you love garlic, you must go to stinking roses. I love their garlic fries, crabs and shrimps. Even though there are many decent restaurants on la cienega, we've always decided to go to stinking rose instead.

Interesting place. Decent service. Good food. – If you like your food with lots of garlic then you should definitely check this place out. I've only been to this restaurant once but had a good time. The price is fair especially for the area. I'd definitely recommend this place.

Good food, okay service, bad hostess – Good food, and the service was friendly once the waiters finally arrived. It was Christmas and only a few tables were occupied in the restaurant, so there was no excuse. The hostess had a lousy attitude, though--no welcome, no goodbye, and when I asked her about getting a waiter, she copped attitude. (I was there on 12/25/06 at 1 p.m. in case the manager is reading this and wants to get rid of any useless hostesses......) Excellent garlic potato soup.

Garlic helms the menu and the kitschy decor of this themed restaurant. – In Short A colorful "Garlic Goes Hollywood" motif permeates this swanky bar and restaurant on La Cienega's Restaurant Row. Usually packed with industry types and families who don't mind having "stinky" celebrations, most folks start with Bagna calda--spreadable cloves in butter, served in a skillet, with warm rolls. Entree options include garlic-infused game, seafood and house-specialty prime rib, with garlic mashed potatoes on the side. For dessert, ga... read more

undecided between not-that-impressed and i-guess-it-was-alright – maybe we had high expectations, but even with the spreadable garlic on the really good bread and the very smooth pineapple mojito, i still think the whole thing was overrated. my filet was a bit on the small side, but it was cooked exactly how i wanted it. the staff was attentive enough. i agree with the previous review on the tacky aspect of it, though. buca di beppo has some, shall we say, interesting decor, too, but they've got the mood and the ambience to ... read more

Great Decoration, Lots of Garlic – I've been coming here for the past 5 years and always take tourists here, because it's so unique. The decor is adorable: wall murals, little cities overlooking the diners, paintings with caricatures of garlic movies and tv shows, hot air balloons - looks like a ride at Disneyland. I love sitting in the curtained 'carriage'-like booths in the middle, makes a private conversation feel more private. Of course, the menu is filled with garlic, so bring someone you love and trust if you're spendi... read more

Garlic Yum – If you want a filling meal, go here. Great bread, garlic (of course) and chicken. Interior is very fun.

Best prime rib! – The Stinking Rose has THE BEST prime rib! The prime rib is always cooked to perfection-- very tender, juicy, and TASTY! By far better than the prime rib at Lawry's, Houston's, and Tony Romas!! When you leave you do have a feeling of garlic overload, and there's a weird garlic aftertaste in your mouth when your done eating that carries over to the next day. Kinda gross, but soooo worth it.
