About this business

Vampires beware! Garlic is abundant in everything on the menu here. Situated on Beverly Hills' Restaurant Row, this kitschy spot serves mostly Italian or as they call it, Cal-Italian. Call it what you want, but it's the garlic that you'll taste and remember. While the food is decent, it's the garlic gimmick that most people come for. The menu features a variety of pastas, chicken, meat, fish and even ice cream, all flavored with the little white bulb. This is a fun place for family and friends. If classy and refined is what ... read more

Avoid this stinking restaurant – Ambience: The hideous, incomprehensible, mural (depicting a nightmare dystopia overrun with appendaged garlic cloves) that lines the restaurant's walls is dated 1995. It's a good bet it was ten years ago the last time anything was done here as far as decor is concerned. Service: Condescending and misleading. When asked of the whereabouts of our garlic mashed potatoes, our server literally scoffed, "They don't come with that entree". A look at the menu proved him to either be lying or simply i... read more

Good atmosphere, poor service... – I did not have high expectations with this restaurant, yet the service provided by my server was non-existent. Only when I "accidentally" dropped a wine glass did someone come to our attention and help us. The server came to take our order in the beginning and we did not see him until the end of our meal. The food runners provided more service. We asked for a second bottle of wine during our meal only to have it by the end of dessert. But the restaurant did look nice...

Good gimmick, average food – "The Stinking Rose"'s gimmick is that garlic is in everything on the menu (even the ice cream). When they bring you bread, they don't bring butter- they give youroasted cloves of garlic to spread (which is fantastic). The food is EXTREMELY average, not below, but very average nonetheless. On top of that, the portions are on the smaller side, so be sure to get both an appetizer and entre. For dessert, try the garlic ice cream, it isn't good- but try it anyway just for the story.

Stinky, yet yummy! – This place is quite unique. It's an experience you have to definitely try. Don't try the rabbit though, there were too many bones. But everything is else is just scrumptious. Price is just about right for the place. Ambience is quite unique. It's like each at each table, you're dining in your own little tent. Becareful when eating the roasted garlic that comes w/ bread before your entrees, the stuff is POTENT!!! Be prepared to have some cleared sinuses and a weird feeling in your throat. LOL
