Don't go when you are on weed overall the experience is great
The hotel is beautiful! If you take the daytime tour-try to get Sophie for your tour. She will make it one of the best history lessons you have ever had.

The Stanley has been an amazing place for many years. It is in need of some TLC. The food is as always amazing!
Unfortunately The Stanley cannot decide whether it wants to be a hotel or a theme park. As a result, guests who pay 300+ dollars per night have to contend with hordes of sightseeing tourists who are just there for the tours. The service in the Cascades restaurant is abysmal, and the coffee in the Steamers Cafe is overpriced and bitter. That being said, the hotel is beautiful! Hmmmm.....Not very good reviews that I am reading. It sounds like this hotel is unkempt and lacks any type of air conditioning except to open windows at the advice of the staff. Does sound like the staff is somewhat rude, rooms and food are overpriced, and most people would not return.
