No good. They made a big mistake - DUPLICATE BILLING for the room charge charge - through a hotel reservation agent and by The standard to my credit card. They did not give a notice of correction or apology. They may think it would be OK as they returned the money. I could find the duplicate billing but if I overlooked at it ....
I love it. Around here throw a rock and you hit a dozen business or family-friendly hotels. The Standard is an oasis in a culture of the well-behaved - the one hotel that is a very nice mod hipster place where singles and couples can feel free to get naughty and blow off some steam - or enjoy those that do :)
The staff was fine. The room was just OK. Burned out hairdryer and Kleanex thrown in a box in the corner of the closet. The bed was good. One wire chair at a desk and a phallic shaped beanbag chair were all their was to sit on besides the bed. No, having visitors in your room is out. This is apparently a party hotel. Because the screaming and going on in the room next to us was endless.
Its like the cosmopolitan las Vegas , room service is 24 hours too
Ugh. Stay away. Location, traffic, dirtiness is horrible, but what's worst is the personnel by long the worst service in hospitality I have ever seen.
Old, no amenities, floors creak throughout the hotel, room smelled like pot, was told I had an upgraded room when booked and checked in and told no they were sold out so no upgrade.
Good ambiance, wonderful staff and good location.
