2nd visit 07/10/25 - Ate at the Selkirk Arms as my hotel was closed for food. Again the fish and chips was my choice and I was not disappointed. Huge piece of fresh haddock, well cooked and tasty. Staff as always friendly and efficient. Definitely recommend. 1st visit - I visited the Selkirk Arms for an evening meal which I booked online via the website which was so easy and convenient. My wife and Nancy and I spent a wonderful day and night in Kirkcudbright at the Selkirk Arms Hotel and Restaurant. Nancy wanted to stay there as her great-grandmother grew up in the town. But beyond that, Kirkcudbright is very charming - beautiful houses and architecture, a place where artists came to paint. And the hotel and restaurant were awesome - wonderful people; superb food; charming room; beautiful garden; cool bar! Probably the best roast lamb I have ever had. A proper Sunday roast. Everything was cooked perfectly and the lamb was so tender. The staff were attentive, discreet and very welcoming. Will definitely visit again when next in the area.
