Sadly we have not stayed here yet but spent the last evening of August enjoying lovely cocktails under the vines and trailing geraniums outside overlooking the pool and beautiful gardens. It is such a wonderful establishment with quite a unique ambience, my relatives used to visit back in the 60s and 70s. We would especially like to mention Jade the mixologist who took good care of us and introduced the Wasabi amaretto sour to my husband, he had more than one! Extremely disappointing in so many ways. The word letdown does not even come close. And that also applies to the appalling reply to this review which is tantamount to admitting that 'we just don't care' (I'm being polite here but you get the message). Clearly there are no saving graces so I have sent this review along with all the photographs to the AA who gave this hotel 4 stars. The hotel can apologize all they want but it rings hollow. Really delicious food. Spectacular soufflé using local produce. Very friendly family atmosphere. Good location and convenient for local attractions. Recently refurbished
