My friend and I had afternoon tea at the Royal crescent hotel and spa as a treat while we were visiting the city. Lovely restaurant and they allowed our two well behaved small dogs in too. Our orders were placed - 1 gluten free without egg mayo sandwich, the other was a classic afternoon tea, again with no mayo. When our afternoon tea arrived, both had egg sandwiches on , despite our requesting no egg!!! No one else was dining at that time so even the mistake cannot be put down to a busy period. Lovely Hotel and location. Great food and environment. However when me and my husband went to the bar we had a very clumsy waitress serving us. It seemed to be her first day on the job and it didn’t really uphold the high standards that the rest of the hotel has. We also had to ask her to repeat herself multiple times as we couldn’t tell what she was saying. I’m not sure about her name as staff doesn’t wear name tags but she was an asian girl with braids. This is an excellent hotel and spa. The personal service is next level, the rooms are excellent. And the staff are exceptional. The spa is fantastic and the massage I got was one of the best ever

My wife and I had afternoon tea here to celebrate our wedding anniversary. It was a delightful couple of hours with a wonderful selection of finger sandwiches (a standard selection of a vegetarian selection) pastries and buns with a selection of tea and coffee. The setting is wonderful and all the staff from the concierge to the waiters were welcoming and delightful. There are seats inside and outside in the garden. Highly recommended.
