We started at Avebury and first 3 days had beautiful scenery but relatively similar. Last 3 days was much more varied, going through fields, woodland and pretty villages. A moderate walk due to distance covered each day and very warm weather.
It says online that the Ridgeway is also for bikes as well as walkers but it's a terrible ride. Ruts everywhere and lots of bumpy uneven ground. My partner fell off her bike twice and cut her knee and got 5 bruises.
Just do it. Amazing. I started at Ivanhoe, I learned, if you cross the themes there is not to much around like food or an inn but still. Worth every day!
