Set in a restored early 20th Century meatpacking warehouse, the restaurant carries on the North Carolina barbecue tradition by serving full-hog, pit-cooked pork, and other barbecue essentials. But The Pit is more than a generic barbecue restaurant: it combines the generous portions of classic meat-loving joints with some surprises. The pork is free-range, and guests can enjoy barbecued tofu, wines, cocktails, and a comprehensive list of bourbons.

Long wait! Make a reservation if possible! Manager or Assistant Manger was very nice! Gave us a sweet bread for our extended wait! But love the food! It was a lot!
My girlfriend and daughter said that the food was hot but I didn't feel that way when I was eating my food I felt like it was not hot enough because my food got Cold to quick

Great place for homemade NC BBQ! The chopped BBQ pork and brisket were awesome! You can tell all the food is fresh made and locally sourced. Fabulous staff as well! Be sure to make a reservation because this place is always packed, for good reason!

We had a party of 10, they first told us we would have to wait around an hour. After a couple of minutes they worked it out so that we could sit right away. The food was great and overall we really enjoyed.
We had an amazing time here. Such great service and amazing food! Our waitress was the sweetest and we bonded over our great pyraneees pups! I would highly recommend this place!!! Yum!
Just moved here from Florida and have been here twice to eat dinner. The food was amazing and the service was great. I don't know what all those bad review are about. The Brisket was amazing. The mac and � was to die for. The atmosphere was very upbeat and very friendly. Will go back again and again. A must try.
