The Pit offers some of the best barbecue in Raleigh. Set in a restored early 20th Century meatpacking warehouse, the restaurant carries on the North Carolina barbecue tradition by serving full-hog, pit-cooked pork, and other barbecue essentials. But The Pit is more than a generic barbecue restaurant: it combines the generous portions of classic meat-loving joints with some surprises. The pork is free-range, and guests can enjoy barbecued tofu, wines, cocktails, and a comprehensive list of bourbons.

Thanks for the kind words. Glad you enjoyed yourself.
I could not believe the phenomenal service we received tonight! Everyone was so kind, it felt like family! The waiter was so knowledgeable on the beer menu )and everything else) and recommended two great beers that my husband enjoyed. He even went out of his way to suggest a great place for dessert! The fried chicken (seriously the best I've ever eaten), mashed potatoes, green beans, and hush puppies were excellent! The fries were great and the coleslaw was good. The BBQ chicken was cooked perfectly; however, the bbq sauce w... read more

We made an online reservation about a month prior to our arrival in Raleigh. 8 people at 7:00pm. We weren't seated until 7:40 but the staff could not be more apologetic. They brought us a complementary sampler platter to get us started and then the food just kept on coming! It was delicious and worth the wait. Will definitely come back again when we are in town.
Business response:
Thanks for your patience with us. Glad we could make it up to you. See you soon

Business response:
Awesome Jazmine Thanks
Always a good time good food and some good brews on tap.
Delicious! I had a deviled egg, fried mac-n-cheese, the pulled pork, mashed potatoes and gravy and Brussels sprouts. The deviled egg had nice pieces of Germaine instead of relish, a nice sirprise. The fried MNC...well it's fried MNC, crispy, hot cheesy, gooey, so two thumbs up. Pulled pork was tender and smokey, and I love the fact that you can sauce yourself, loved the Carolina vinegar-based sauce. Mashed potatoes were perfect, gravy excellent. Brussels sprouts were cooked with some bacon, were piping hot, and very yummy. I... read more
