The Pit offers some of the best barbecue in Raleigh. Set in a restored early 20th Century meatpacking warehouse, the restaurant carries on the North Carolina barbecue tradition by serving full-hog, pit-cooked pork, and other barbecue essentials. But The Pit is more than a generic barbecue restaurant: it combines the generous portions of classic meat-loving joints with some surprises. The pork is free-range, and guests can enjoy barbecued tofu, wines, cocktails, and a comprehensive list of bourbons.

Wasn't in the mood for BBQ so I had a burger and it was the best burger ever!!! Fried green tomatoes were amazing as well.
Wonderful service and the food was delicious! Can't wait to go back Parking is a hard to find but that is to be expected for downtown Raleigh
I went there for the first time December 17, and it was amazing!! The atmosphere, service and food was amazing!!! I will def return when I'm back in Raleigh!
Hand's down the best BBQ I have ever had! And the best hush puppies
The atmosphere and service was great. I ordered Carolina Eastern BBQ food was not hot, luke warm. Server Chad was awesome great personality. Inspite of warm food I still enjoyed the food.
Chopped BBQ turkey, cole slaw and potato salad was wonderful. Wifey liked the BBQ chicken, too. Service was excellent. Thanks Eric from Asheboro. Will definitely return.
Ate there with my wife and grandson. The ribs were awesome so we're the chicken wings, the fried chicken was juicy and tasty and the Brisket was so juicy and tender everything had just the right amount of smoke. We started with the fried pimento cheese and they were delicious.
We split a plate of ribs, fried chicken, pulled pork, brisket, collars greens and fried okra. About $29.00, plenty of leftovers for two the next day. Staff was friendly, decent craft beer selection. Food came out super fast and ''twas tastee.
Service was great, very friendly. Food was delicious it was definitely different. My only complaint is the banana pudding It didn't live up to what I expected. Overall is was very pleased!
